Software995 Inc. announced a new ThinkMatch service that gives community newspapers and local publications a free, publication-branded local events page and an embeddable events widget for their own websites.
A publisher can begin with a hosted ThinkMatch community-events page, then add the same listings to its publication website with a small embed code and no shared ThinkMatch password or API key. The widget adjusts to its contents and links readers to official event information while preserving the publication's selected event coverage.
Depending on local availability and publisher choices, listings can combine major ticketed events, public Meetup and Luma events, Mobilize civic events, public community calendars, nearby college and university calendars, eligible ThinkMatch events, and events submitted directly by readers.
Publisher staff can choose the geographic coverage area and event sources, add selected Meetup groups or Luma calendars, apply a publication logo and accent color, and review reader-submitted events before they appear publicly. A staff workspace also reports tracked interactions and attributed ThinkMatch joins.
Readers can filter the listings by source, open official registration or event details, submit a community event for review, or join an event through ThinkMatch. When they join through ThinkMatch, event questions can help identify people with compatible interests and create a more comfortable path to attending together.
ThinkMatch supplies and refreshes supported third-party listings but does not organize those events, sell or validate tickets, or replace an organizer's official schedule and registration information. Source coverage varies by location.
The community-events page and widget service are currently offered free to participating publishers.
