You and your guests are invited to our monthly gathering where you can learn new coping strategies and build a supportive community with other stroke survivors. Unforeseen injuries can occur at any time, to any person - falling off a ladder, having a kitchen mishap or being involved in a car crash. Thankfully, anyone can be trained to help save lives. The goal of the Stop the Bleed program is to help people like you learn how to prevent deaths from traumatic bleeding. Become empowered to save a life and sign up for training to ‘stop the bleed.’ Training is 1 hour First 30 minutes – lecture where all participants are together Second 30 minutes – skills training with an instructor. Students will be asked to demonstrate wound packing and tourniquet placement. To successfully complete the training, you must: Attend entire class and be engaged Practice applying pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet placement with instructor Request a Group Training Session If you would like to provide a free Stop the Bleed training to your staff, employees, or students, please submit a Group Training Request. Bleeding Control Kits and tourniquets may be purchased during class.

University Health offers the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring courses. These evidence-based courses use a case-based approach to reinforce the principles of fetal heart monitoring and enhance participants’ ability to analyze complex clinical information and fetal monitoring tracings. Course content emphasizes the physiology of fetal-maternal oxygenation, identification of physiologically based clinical interventions, and best practices for communication and documentation. Participants receive Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) hours upon successful completion of the course requirements. These courses are recommended for perinatal clinicians every two years and may support preparation for, or maintenance of, professional certifications. Get ready for the birthing process with our Childbirth Preparation class, designed to help expectant parents feel informed and supported. This is not a Lamaze class. Registration is required due to limited space. One adult labor support person is encouraged to attend and does not need to register.Space is limited, so registration is required. You’re encouraged to bring one adult support person, and they don't need to register. The English Childbirth Preparation Class is a two-day, in-person event that runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday. Participants must complete both days to finish the course. University Health offers the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring courses. These evidence-based courses use a case-based approach to reinforce the principles of fetal heart monitoring and enhance participants’ ability to analyze complex clinical information and fetal monitoring tracings. Course content emphasizes the physiology of fetal-maternal oxygenation, identification of physiologically based clinical interventions, and best practices for communication and documentation. Participants receive Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) hours upon successful completion of the course requirements. These courses are recommended for perinatal clinicians every two years and may support preparation for, or maintenance of, professional certifications. Get ready for the birthing process with our Childbirth Preparation class, designed to help expectant parents feel informed and supported. This is not a Lamaze class. Registration is required due to limited space. One adult labor support person is encouraged to attend and does not need to register.Space is limited, so registration is required. You’re encouraged to bring one adult support person, and they don't need to register. The English Childbirth Preparation Class is a two-day, in-person event that runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday. Participants must complete both days to finish the course.
