This joyful music-and-movement program for babies and toddlers (ages 0–3) uses singing, dancing, and play to support early learning and help little ones build important skills through movement. Preschool Storytime is designed especially for children ages 3-5 years old to give them access to opportunities that promote school success and build early literacy skills (what children know about reading and writing before they can actually read and write). Preschoolers are encouraged to see themselves as readers through focused interactions with library staff who present imaginative stories to demonstrate pre-reading skills. Story sessions typically last 30-40 minutes and include stories, flannel boards, fingerplays, and big body movement activities. Food is Medicine - Free 4-Month Program Join this American Heart Association program to learn how healthy foods support blood pressure and heart health. Participants attend monthly classes and receive produce deliveries, a free blood pressure monitor, and support from Community Health Workers. Spanish and Khmer translation available; other languages may be available upon request. Referral required. Submit an interest form to begin the referral process. Program staff will contact you to determine eligibility. Space is limited and enrollment is not guaranteed. For ages birth to 12 months. A storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregiver. This 20-30 minute storytime will introduce a diverse collection of books, songs, rhymes and bounces that are developmentally appropriate for children from birth to when they start walking. This is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys and culture of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This storytime is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver’s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program. Social play time will follow the end of the program allowing babies and caregivers to interact. No library card or reservation necessary. The back community room door to the parking lot will open 5 minutes prior to the start of the program for families to enter.

Through songs and rhymes, children will explore the alphabet, shapes, counting, and sounds in ways that keep them engaged and learning, with an emphasis on singing and movement rather than a traditional book reading. To support movement and enjoyment, scarves and bubbles will be included. This program is designed for children under 2½ years old and is ideal for little ones who can sit up on their own, are crawling, or are just beginning to walk. We’ll begin by reading a story that highlights the beauty and movement found in nature. Then we’ll head to the garden to observe our butterflies in action—now fully grown and ready for the next stage of their life cycle.
