260 Madison is a temporary, two-month, artist-run exhibition featuring more than 50 artists and collaborations across two spaces at AmTrustRE’s 260 Madison Avenue office tower, at Madison Avenue and 39th Street. Co-curated by Dayana Matasheva, Edson Niebla Rodríguez and Shaina Tabak, the exhibition spans a former Duane Reade storefront and a 23,000-square-foot former office floor on the 14th level. Many participating artists have ties to Columbia University School of the Arts and work across sculpture, new media and video. Set within spaces shaped by what architect Rem Koolhaas called “Junkspace,” the exhibition explores control, surveillance, artificial intelligence, extraction and the systems shaping how people work, move and live. Wendy Hilliard was the first Black rhythmic gymnast to represent the U.S. internationally and was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame. In 1996, she founded the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Since then, WHGF has served nearly 30,000 youth. The Museum of Modern Art announces an exhibition, Jakob Kudsk Steensen: Wetland, from October 12, 2026–March 7, 2027. Have you ever wondered what once existed under the streets where we stand? Many modern cities were built on top of wetlands. If we look close enough, traces of those lost ecosystems remain. In Berl-Berl, Jakob Kudsk Steensen reimagines Berlin's forgotten wetlands as a singing, digital swamp. Part of an ongoing body of work, the work takes its title from the Slavic word for swamp, the origin of Berlin's name. It combines ecological research and local folklore and songs—once used as a way of mapping this terrain and documenting its stories—to bring forth a new kind of landscape. Berl-Berl emerged through collaborations with the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and the musician Arca, rooted in months of fieldwork in Berlin's remaining wetlands, archival research into Sorbian and Slavic mythology, and studying linguistic history. Steensen introduced a collection of specimens of local rocks, flora, and fauna into the work's visual and acoustic worlds, while transforming field recordings of swamps into rhythm and song. Translating a living environment into the digital realm, Kudsk Steensen invites visitors to imagine new forms of encounter between human and more-than-human spheres. The work draws on memory, feeling, and imagination to reshape how we relate to the natural world. Built using macro photogrammetry, 3D scanning, and game engine technology, the work unfolds as an ever-changing landscape—an archive of a vanishing world and a speculation about the one still to come.

Abilis is excited to announce its 21st annual Walk/Run for Abilis on Sunday, October 11, 2026! This annual family fun “friendraiser” is held at the Clambake area of Greenwich Point Park (Tod’s Point) in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. Participants can partake in the 1-mile accessible walk and/or a 5K family fun run. Advance registration is encouraged at abilis.us/walkrun. Registration is free for walkers, $35 for runners ages 12 and up, and $10 for runners 11 and under. Back by popular demand is Carnival for a Cause, run by the Abilis Youth Board, with fun games and activities for children. 260 Madison is a temporary, two-month, artist-run exhibition featuring more than 50 artists and collaborations across two spaces at AmTrustRE’s 260 Madison Avenue office tower, at Madison Avenue and 39th Street. Co-curated by Dayana Matasheva, Edson Niebla Rodríguez and Shaina Tabak, the exhibition spans a former Duane Reade storefront and a 23,000-square-foot former office floor on the 14th level. Many participating artists have ties to Columbia University School of the Arts and work across sculpture, new media and video. Set within spaces shaped by what architect Rem Koolhaas called “Junkspace,” the exhibition explores control, surveillance, artificial intelligence, extraction and the systems shaping how people work, move and live. Participating artists include Matt Mullican, Jon Kessler, Simon Denny, Josh Kline, Eva & Franco Mattes, Rachel Rossin, Liz Magic Laser, Leigh Ledare, David Humphrey and Michelle Segre. Registration for the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation’s fall semester is now open. Wendy Hilliard was the first Black rhythmic gymnast to represent the U.S. internationally and was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame. In 1996, she founded the Wendy Hilliard Gymnastics Foundation which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Since then, WHGF has served nearly 30,000 youth.
